  2. Print a shipping label right from your computer.
  3. Get paid! We'll send out payment once we receive your books.

Are there any fees for selling my books?

No, it is free to use our service, and we even pay for the shipping!

Can I sell used textbooks here?

Yes! Most of the textbooks we purchase have a publication date of 2010 or newer. View our example 500 list for a list of textbooks we have recently purchased.

What kinds of books do you buy?

We specialize in textbooks published within the last 3 years. View our examples books we buy page, which shows examples and categories of books that we commonly purchase.

What types of books do you not buy?

Will you accept books in any condition?

Do you accept books from outside of the United States?

We do not accept books from outside the United States at this time due to the high cost of shipping internationally and various legal restrictions.

Will you buy multiple copies of the same book?

Yes, but we do impose a maximum quantity for each book.If you are a reseller and/or have large numbers of books that exceed the maximum quantity allowed, please send us an email.

I have a LARGE number of books that I am selling. Will you be able to help me?

Can I use a mobile device to price check books?

What happens if I send a book that does not meet your Used Book Condition Policy?

Items not accepted by C4B will only be shipped back to you at your expense. Items not accepted will be held for 30 days; after that time, these items will be recycled, donated, or used to support the community and environment at C4B's discretion. C4B will post a notice of any deductions for items not accepted on your account within 2 business days after receipt. If you would like the unaccepted items returned, you must contact C4B promptly, through email or phone, to provide payment for return shipping costs.

My book has more than one ISBN. Which one should I use?

Please use the ISBN on the copyright page. If there are multiple ISBNs present on the copyright page, select the one that best describes the book. If you have any questions regarding ISBNs, please feel free to e-mail or call us.

Please be aware bookstores may place their own sticker or unique ISBN on the back cover of a book. For this reason, always use the printed ISBN located on the copyright page. McKenzie Books does not accept books without ISBN numbers or copyright pages.

How will I ship my order?

Shipping is always FREE! Once you submit an order, we will provide you with a prepaid shipping label. Further shipping instructions are provided during checkout.

Where can I get a box?

There are several options. You can buy a new box from a store, or get a used box for free. (Don't forget that if it's a used box, it should still be sturdy and free from any address labels or residue that could damage your books!) Great sources for used boxes:

  1. The mall - make sure to ask permission from the manager or security office
  2. The supermarket - ask which days they receive deliveries and catch the boxes before they are compacted for recycling
  3. Ask at individual retail stores, small businesses, doctor's offices - they are often more than willing to get rid of them

How long do I have to send in the books?

We ask that you ship your books to us as soon as possible. The faster you ship, the faster you get paid! If you need to ship your books more than 5 days after you completed the checkout process, please contact us.

I am unable to print from my computer. What should I do?

If you are unable to immediately print, you have three options:

  1. You may request to have your labels emailed to you, which would allow you to print your labels when you have access to a printer. During checkout, select the "Email my labels to print later" option.
  2. We can mail your shipping labels to you. Select the "I don’t have access to a printer" option during checkout.
  3. You can pay for shipping initially. Please keep in mind that we will only credit you the USPS Media Mail rates, based on the weight of the books.

I live near Beaverton, Oregon. Can I bring my books directly to you?

Yes! Please submit your order online first. Print a copy of your packing slip (select "Print my labels now" during checkout, then choose the Walk In option) or write your Order ID on a piece of paper,and bring it in along with your books.

How do I know if you have received my books?

We will send out a "received" email notification as soon as your shipment is received. You may also see the status of your order at any time by logging into your account.

Payment Questions

How long does it take to get paid?

We will mail you a check, or pay you via PayPal, within 1 business day after we receive and process your book(s). And, on average books are received at our warehouse within 12 days of submitting your transaction on the website.

How do I get paid?

How we pay you depends on what you selected as your payment preference. We will either mail you a check, or pay you via PayPal.
