Although it is a grim story, A Child Called "It"  is very much in the tradition of Chicken Soup for the Soul series. This book is all about weathering adversity to find love, and Pelzer is an expert witness. 

Frederick Law Olmsted is arguably the most important historical figure that the average American knows the least about.
